At long last.

My dad's boots are once again on American soil. In a week, he will be allowed to step down from his military duties and join my mom on vacation. After that, he will have another week before he resumes his civilian duties and tries to take up the threads of a life put aside for months.

You must be thrilled beyond words. Reminds of a quote. "It is better to have a heart without words than words without a heart. :-) Don

HOORAY! Mazel Tov! Blessings!

Know this: My father served in the Navy during Vietnam. He was never wounded and did not see the horrors that many soldiers and marines did. But it still took him some time to adjust back to civilian life. Be prepared for bouts of depression, adrenelin addiction (life seemingly too slow), nightmares, fears or anger, etc.
All is not necessarily well, just because your Dad is back--though its a FANTASTIC start. So, I pledge my continued prayers.

Thank you. I know. This is his second tour and well... I remember how frightening it was to see him for the first time after the first tour.

now, well, patience and prayers, patience and prayers.
