Another childhood picture

Twelve years old,
apron on, making dinner,
younger children wait.

Dinner finished,
Bathtime finished, bedtime story
Then a book to read.

Up until midnight,
cup of tea, dinner ready,
waiting for Mom.

This really touched me in a way I'm not sure I can describe.

I agree with quiet paths. This one reaches deep. Accolades for taking on the tasks, enjoying the reward. Provocative piece, for sure and nicely done!

The tone suggests loneliness and love. This is wonderful.

wow, this is a really intense one, the child needing to fill the role of the adult and take care of the younger siblings. well done!
