Not easy, but rewarding

It's been tough since I last wrote an entry. After a very stressful final week, I along with most of my classmates graduated, and then found ourselves navigating the introductory meetings for new teachers. And then I was given a temporary placement a mere 5 minutes from my home.

This week, I was given my final assignment, which is much further away, but where I hope my skills and hard work will prove to benefit my students. My temporary assignment was wonderful, and I sincerely hope that one day I will be able to return to my neighborhood to teach, but in the mean time, there is a lot of work to do at the school I am assigned to. Today, I observed two classes, took part in collaborative planning, sent emails, checked student files, attended a staff meeting to review our school's plan for improvement, began to write my introductory letter to parents, and finally painted a sign for grandparent's day. Oh, and wrote a few notes back to the school I just transferred from.

Tomorrow, I'll be in both the classrooms I observed today, and working more on reviewing my students' files. And hopefully, getting a chance to prepare for the two standardized tests I'll be taking Saturday.

Wish me luck!
